Our Story
Louisiana Retro Con was started in the small town of Houma, Louisiana in September of 2022. It all started in a small gym in Oakshire subdivision. The first show was only a four-hour test run event, and was never expected to expand in such a positive way.

Just a few months later at our next show, Louisiana Retro Con Winter 2023 (January 21, 2023), was our biggest and most successful event to date, with double the vendors, the addition of 3 extra hours to the event time, as well as the inclusion of on-site food trucks. Due to the loving outreach and continued high demand, LRC conventions are now permanently hosted bi-annually (twice per year).
The following show, Louisiana Retro Con Fall 2023 (September 9th, 2023), was at the time, our biggest and most ambitious event yet. Taking place in the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium, we united our fandom larger than ever before. hosting over 80+ vendors, exhibitors and special guests, there was something for everyone of all ages to enjoy.

A few months later at Louisiana Retro Con Spring 2024 (March 2nd & 3rd, 2024), it was a record in the making for our convention family. Being our first-ever two-day convention, we brought the event to the next level. In addition to two days, we had our first-ever after party, and even first appearances of some celebrity guests at the con!

Six months later, Louisiana Retro Con Fall 2024 was the first event in LRC history to have a postponed date due to a natural disaster. Originally planned to return to the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium on September 14th & 15th, Louisiana Retro Con was postponed due to Hurricane Francine directly attacking the town. After five days of silence, the fans were shocked to find that the show resurrected for a rescheduled date so fast! Louisiana Retro Con Fall 2024 had it's largest and most successful event in history at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in the Trademart building of Gonzales, LA! Let this be a testament that dreams can come true.

Year 2025 marked history for Louisiana Retro Con, beginning with the Winter 2025 show on February 1st and 2nd. Our event was the first convention in the entire state of LA to get the original video game voices of Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog, along with infamous voice actors of Dr. Eggman and Knuckles the Echidna. The show broke records, becoming our largest event yet. This was also our first event to include digital pinball into the free play arcade area!

Our latest and greatest event was Louisiana Retro Con Summer 2025 on August 2nd and 3rd! This event added more arcades than ever before, and had numerous activities to join in on! The celebrated theme was Super Mario Bros, as we honored the iconic series' 40th anniversary (1985 - 2025).
